Being of Service and asking for help

Good Morning from Sunny Michigan!

So many times, we suffer, angst and worry. Trudging through life, carrying our burden basket, hoping someone will notice. Or going it alone, martyr like, wearing our sufferage like a badge of honor.

There are many depending on us, physically, financially, spiritually, and emotionally.   Others are depending on us to be an example, watching what we do, more than listening to what we say.

There is strength in asking for help.

Many of us come from industrial age women, self sacrificing to the point of loosing  their identity, resentful for who they could have been if.........

The example to our daughters and sons is; that it is not selfish to care for the self. It creates balance, and part of this is asking when in need...

Just like on the airplane "put on your own oxygen mask before assisting others with theirs."

All of us are wanting to be of service.

Others are waiting to feel good about helping us. There is a circle of energy that is created when we give.

In order to be complete,  it requires we learn to ask and graciously receive. Or we will never know the humbling that is required to allow others to be of service to us. Then we will understand how hard it is for others to allow us to help them.

It creates surrender of control, eliminates our separateness, demands trust,  creates community, and  removes ego.

It also allows us to admit, we don't have all the answers and that we need each other.

Blessings to everyone.

Here is the thought for the day !

When I dig another out of trouble, the hole from which I lift him is the place where I bury my own. Norman Vincent Peale
