Taking an emotional TIME OUT !! New Moon in May

Good Morning all!!!!!

Thursday, May 7th is the new moon.

Again, for the newcomers on the list, the new moon is the dark moon, it is a time of barrenness for 3 days. Of making plans, and dreams and reflection on the past month, and the future month.   It is a time of Mourning, and Creating.

If women spend enough time in Nature, especially at night, we would begin to cycle with our menstrual at the time of the new moon. Just like our Moontime, it is a time of mourning the barrenness, of the previous month, and preparing for the possibility of life in the coming month. Even if we are not planning to be pregnant, we focus that creative energy in "creating" something new.

This applies to men also. Men have a female part of them that is naturally more emotional; feeling the pull of emotion at the New and Full moon. Rather than "sucking it up" and repressing this natural flow of emotion. Make a safe place, without interruption to have a "release".

This is a sacred thing, we need to respect the sacred space of everyone during this time, to be left alone with their thoughts, not take their moodiness personal, allow them their "space". The focus should be on ourselves, walking our own path, our  going within, our sacred time alone, to think, plan and dream. Making plans for the net 30 days.

For those of you who have adopted this practice, I would appreciate your feedback so we can share it (anonymously of course) with the rest of the group.

I have come to look forward to these times, it is like a purposeful "time out". It reduces stress the rest of the month, and things flow much better. I buy all my favorite comfort foods, gather my good books, get a few sappy movies guaranteed to make me think, cry or both!!!  Get some craft items in case I get inspired and spend a day or two indulging my emotional self. Mourning the plans that did not come together in the previous month, and creating new dreams for the next.

Have a happy and fun filled weekend!!! Here is the thought for the day!!

"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering."
