Normal- it's relative....

Good Morning!
We are so driven by the majority, that we are afraid to be authentic.

To swim against the tides of normal..to dare to be unique....We are afraid to be un-normal.
Afraid of what others will think.....

Normal is relative and dictated by the majority.

Our uniqueness messes with other peoples reality...it makes them look at their own un-normalness or inability to be authentic and THAT makes them uncomfortable and critical....

If we dared to be un-normal-  we may see how ridiculous and unmanageable our lives have become- that if we stopped long enough, we would question our life and ask-What the hell am I doing?

Dare to be your own majority.

Here is the thought for the day-

You probably heard that depression is worse in the morning.
Why is depression worse in the morning?
What does it say about the day you are about to enter?

whew! the party's over...

Good Morning,
I have been offline for a few days I hope everyone's holiday went well.
I am available for coaching, and speaking engagements as well as one on one sessions...
These informational gatherings are a fun activity for your group, book club or girls night out.
I can be reached at 216.324.2657 or by email.
Some topics are;
Dreams what do they mean...
Developing our own psychic abilities.
Creating abundance
The simple life- creating  balance in an unbalanced world.
Also a myriad of women's topics.

I hope the new year brings abundance, growth and love to everyone.
Looking forward to what the new Year offers!!

Feeling like you "plug" was pulled?
You're not alone..
this energy let down ater the parties and events leaves us tired, with some guilt, regret, but do not dwell on those things, make note; what worked, what didn't and what will we do the next time.
Rest, regroup, and be prepared to set sail for tomorrow.
Now is a good time before the New year to reflect on the last year..
What stays?
What goes?
Putting things in order,  and deciding what to do in the new year...
Don't look at the big picture as much as choosing 1 new change or thing at a time.
A clean slate, a future full of opportunity...where will we be?
That's the best part...we don't know....

Here is the thought for the day

Every morning is a fresh beginning.
Every day is the world made new.
Today is a new day.
Today is my world made new.
I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day.
This moment--this day--is as good as any moment in all eternity.
I shall make of this day--each moment of this day--a heaven on earth.
This is my day of opportunity.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus

Hello all!!

Now the fun begins...wrapping.... checking the list twice....making sure you didn't forget anyone...

During the midst of this try to remain present.
It's so easy to get caught in the "Have to do's" that we forget to enjoy who we're with, and the joy of buying the gift that will carry your energy and Love to the recipient...

So busy planning and preparing that we are too tired to enjoy the party....

Breathe...
Laugh....
Enjoy...
Relax....

The Holidays are a time of  Magic, Miracles, gathering, celebrating and gratitude...
The best present is to stay present.....lol

Here is the thought for the day

Francis P. Church’s editorial, “Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” was an immediate sensation, and went on to became one of the most famous editorials ever written. It first appeared in the The New York Sun in 1897, almost a hundred years ago, and was reprinted annually until 1949 when the paper went out of business.

Dear Editor—

I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, “If you see it in The Sun, it’s so.” Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia O’Hanlon

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds.

All minds, Virginia, whether they be men’s or children’s, are little.

In this great universe of ours, man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The external light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus.

The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that’s no proof that they are not there.

Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby’s rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived could tear apart.

Only faith, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond.

Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in allthis world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

Peace of Winter Solstice to you

Good Morning,

Today is Winter Solstice, the origin of the word Solstice, which comes from Latin solstitium, from sol, “sun” and -stitium, “a stoppage.”

Today is the Beginning of Winter, the shortest day and the longest night.

It is a time for all things to die, to hibernate.

This year it is also occurring during the New Moon which allows us to finally put many things in our lives to rest.

It is not uncommon to see that this is a time of year when many people chose to cross over to the Blue Road of Spirit..It is a perfect time for death to occur...

Allow for the things that are no longer fitting to leave your life; purposefully allow them to "die" so we can begin to create new and better things for ourselves..to be brought out in the Spring.....

By using these natural cycles, we will feel in sync with the world.

It's when we deny these transitional times that we feel scattered and out of balance.

The Universe is trying to right the things out of balance for us, so don't fight it, allow the natural times of death and rebirth to create the current...and enjoy the ride.

Here is the thought for the day

Deep peace of the Winter solstice to you.
Deep peace of the falling snow to you.
Deep peace of the love of friends to you.
Deep peace of the gentle deer to you.
Deep peace of the moon and stars to you.
Native American prayer

Aare elders always older?

Good Morning All!!

I was in the drugstore the other day, and three girls were in line behind me..2 were friends about 12 and one was a "little sister" about seven years old.

The older girl was saying to the little one..You're stupid, Santa hates you, why would anyone want to buy you a present you're so ugly....

It's amazing how time can stand still long enough for us to have a vision....

It was 1976...I was 13 and having one of a litany of bullying sessions  with my sister about her wearing my clothes.... I was superior, and I tried to make her feel bad....I don't think I could have been crueler...She always complied, and never fought back.....

As time progressed, she seemed to be always making concessions for others, taking the path of least resistance....she showed me that you don't always have to have a confrontation to emerge the winner...
In observing her growth into womanhood and her deep spiritual commitment, she has become an elder; who I depend on to bring me into balance.....to get a different perspective from my own....She still listens to me when I'm not at my best, and brings me into focus.

I turned to the girls in the drugstore and said "I have a little sister, who I treated very badly when she was younger..What you say can affect her for the rest of her life..and today, I am  very sorry for that.....because I found out later that she was perfectly awesome and it was me who needed her."

The little one gave me a wink...

I really think she is much wiser than her sister knows...today....

Here is the thought for the day

Imagine that every person in the world is enlightened but you.
They are all your teachers, each doing just the right thing
to help you learn perfect patience,
perfect wisdom,
perfect compassion.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign....

Good Morning!!
The best part of the Daily thoughts are the confirmations I receive from you guys...
Changing awareness so that you see the nuance of Spirit at work in your daily lives.
With permission, the following is an excerpt from an email I received from one of your fellow "villagers"..
Remember, Messengers and Spirit are at work, wherever you are, regardless of the day, or the location.
They make sure we get the message...even while shopping.......
all we have to do is pay attention......

Here is the thought for the day

Marianne,
Thank you for being a part of my life!!
Everyday I experience something amazing and I always think if it wasn't for my friend Marianne I wouldn't have the faith that I am building stronger and stronger everyday.

I have to tell you about my amazing situation that happened to me on Saturday.
I was at Marc's in North Olmsted and taking my good old time down each aisle.
I was down the candy aisle when this elderly man approached me and said
"I don't mean to bother you, but I was wondering if you happened to see cup-of-soup while you were floating around these aisle's?"
I told him no, and started talking to him.
He then repeated "I don't want to bother you by taking up your time but I just have to tell you " You have the most beautiful smile I have ever seen",
And me being shy, thanked him of course, and he was like " no I mean it"  "you have such a pretty smile and you made my day, you really did, you made my day"

After he left I felt like I was on air and I started to cry,
I felt so joyful at that moment and actually he made my day.
I wanted to find him to see if he found his cup-of-soup,
but HE WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND.
God sure does work wonders, and so do his angels!!!

Amen

The recipe for Greatness

Good Morning!

Everybody has great ideas...
But very few actually put them into action......
Leading requires Faith; in the self and in a power bigger than you.
It puts you out front,
to prove you walk your talk.
It means doing the right thing, not the easy or popular thing.
It makes you a target and a mirror....
It opens you to criticism;
It requires discipline and self government

This is the challenge of being a leader.

Lead anyway...

Here is the thought for the day-

To be nobody-but-yourself --
in a world which is doing its best night and day,
to make you everybody else--
means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight;
and never stop fighting.

It's a Wonderful Life

 Good Morning!!

I want to that all of you for being part of my life...For your words of encouragement and support.....Thank you for coming into my journey....

I wish all of you Love and Peace in this Holiday season, and for those you Love.

There are times in all of our lives, where we feel that life is cruel and the road is long...

It's not always easy to see the beauty that is our life. We feel we have not made an impact, that our journey is without purpose and in vain....

When I'm feeling this way, I watch "It's a Wonderful Life"...

My favorite part is where all the prayers for George are being heard by God...... they send an Angel as an answer to those prayers...

George is a man, who has expectations, dreams and aspirations, but they are always being positioned to do something else...To put his dreams away to take up responsibility.

Finally... one day, faced with impending doom, he looks back at the regret and missed opportunities of his life, the seeming insurmountable dilemma facing him, and sees that killing himself would be the best way to leave everyone in a better financial place, since he had a life insurance policy.

So, down to the river he goes ... he stands looking into the water, and out of nowhere, into the river jumps another man...

Being the man he is, George jumps in to save him. Even in his most desperate hour, he looks beyond himself to instinctively do the higher thing.

After pulling the man to safety, the man, Clarence, innocent and odd, tells him that he is an Angel, sent to show him the beauty that is his life. He must convince and help George in order to get his "wings".

George tells the Angel, that it would have been better if had not been born at all, AND SO IT WAS....

As his reality is unraveled, life without him ever existing was decadent, seedy and without love, compassion and joy...The town he loved and the people were suffering and unhappy...without his small interventions in their life..

For the ripple effect of his life in this existence, had impacts that even he could not comprehend.

George does not like what he sees, and realizes that he indeed has a Wonderful life, and whatever he is facing is better that never existing at all...

George wanted to go back, he had seen enough, but he lost Clarence the Angel.

So down to the river he goes, and it is there that he steps back into his reality.

He hurries home, to find that, in his hour of need, when he had felt so alone, the man who helped everyone unconditionally, forgot to ask when he was in need.

Here came everyone he ever helped, willing to give to the man who had so selflessly gave to them.

Even people who he didn't know, saw this outpouring of love and gave too.

And on top of the pile of money was the book "Tom Sawyer" from the Angel Clarence inscribed;

Our thought of the day;

Dear George;-

Remember, no man is a failure who has friends.

Thanks for the wings!

 Love,

Clarence.

It is indeed a Wonderful life.

 Namaste,
Marianne Goldweber

Inspiration and Creativity

Good Morning,

Inspiration
c.1303, "immediate influence of God or a god," especially that under which the holy books were written, from O.Fr. inspiration, from L.L. inspirationem (nom. inspiratio), from L. inspiratus, pp. of inspirare "inspire, inflame, blow into," from in-"in" + spirare "to breathe" (see spirit).

I can't tell you how many times I have been Inspired but stopped there....

Sometimes, it is best with the creative process to just start.... our analytical human self starts preparing and planning, and that is where it ends...

Being creative starts with just starting, and it will just evolve as it goes...
By beginning..others notice our progress and begin to get inspired themselves....

The next part isn't really visible until we open ourselves to just allowing it to become....to breathe...to allow for inspiration....

This goes for any new thing that we are creating from a new path in life to art.....

Just starting... with no destination in mind... opens us to the Divine inspiration, and the creation energies....

All the Universe is waiting for is us to begin........

Here is the Thought for the day!

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure,
to embrace the new.

But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.

There is more security in the adventurous and exciting,
for in movement there is life,

and in change there is power.

Why Thoughts?

Good Morning!

I started writing these thoughts for the day in order to get all of us to look at life and it's daily challenges with a Spiritual eye, seeing that there are Spiritual solutions to our daily challenges..
I use myself as an example because we are all Mirrors for each other, in our strengths and weaknesses.
Being a human on a Spiritual journey and I share my experiences,  So we can all take that part that we can see in our own life, and get a new perspective.
.
Some days, they speak to you and some days they may not, but that is the beauty of story telling......
I always say that perspective is like a round room with many windows, all of us have a different view of that room, none of which are wrong...just different..

Finding the courage to walk around and go to another's perspective is a skill that is developed; being able to remove the ego of our view being right; it broadens our scope of understanding....
Thank you, for coming to my window and having the courage to look at things in a different way.
Thank you all for your encouragement and emails of how the Thoughts for the day
come "at the right time"...
Thank you for passing them on...
All of the thoughts I have ever written are posted to a public blog called Walking the Red Road
If you would like to read past Thoughts, or post comments on the blog go to
http://journals.aol.com/blueroadspirit/WalkingtheRedRoad/

Others would like to see how they have affected you.......and may give them the courage to change....

Here is the Thought for the day

Come to the edge,' He said.
They said, 'We are afraid.'
'Come to the edge,' He said.
They came.
He pushed them...
and they flew..

Prophecy

Happy Friday!!!!!
The other day, some religious messengers came to my door, to warn me of the coming of the end of the world.
I don't think they expected me to agree, however and I'm sure I'm on the "don't-go-to that-house- again" list...lol.

There are many prophecies, many visions of the world, as we know it coming to an end.

Not necessarily in the literal sense, but in visions, such as the book of Revelations, in the new testament.

The Hopi, who are the Keepers of knowledge have prophesied the ending of the 4th world of separation- separation from Creator, being utterly human, the world, satisfied need with the material things, and no need for things of Spirit.- and we will begin to enter the Fifth world of Peace.. During the transition, there will be much upheaval as with any transition.

All visions need to be interpreted.
Visions are the way the Universe shows us what is going on in our reality.

The search for so many to a simpler, more meaningful life, of searching spiritually is also part of the prophecy.

The time for change, the time for Peace and Love;to care for Our Mother Earth
The time is now.

Here is the thought for the day

The old Fourth World was a paradigm where, when one individual has something, instead of using it to help the others, trying to keep it for themselves, with the result that in time a system was made that is now collapsing because its foundations were irresponsible in relation to the whole.
As people develop their gifts, which all come from Spirit, and use them for the benefit of All Our Relations, we are building a system founded on that which is eternal and based in love.

Personal accountability

Greetings,
The state of affairs in our society (as prophesied) is changing.

More than ever it's imperative that we become accountable...

Unburden the system through accountability.
First, accountable for ourselves....
Then our family....
Then our community....
Then globally.....

Everything we do affects someone other than our self....

That is a huge statement....
Every choice affects someone else....

Your mood, the things we say, the things we do are all perceived by others...impacting them even on an energy level.

How many times do we get affected by the random selfish acts of others?
Only because they are thinking of no one other than themselves at any given moment?

The other day, we were at the gas station and a man threw all of his garbage out of the window in the parking lot...The kids were horrified, who was going to clean that up?
I doubt he was thinking about that, or that he had such a profound affect on them.

But, I send my garbage out to the curb every week, I don't really know where it goes, or the impact that has on my garbage man, or the landfill that I'm sure it goes to... because as long as it's not in my house, who cares?

It seems extreme, but the consciousness of recycling, using less, wasting less, would eventually make a difference....

It takes courage to look at the way we live in the third person, from a higher perspective..

Be accountable...take responsibility for who you are and what influence you have in your own life and the lives of those we love...

If enough of us did just that simple action, it would change the world....

Here is the thought for the day

Do the best you can,
where you are,
with what you have,

Remembering Success

Greetings to all!!!
In preparing for leaps and risks, I have recently found it necessary to scrutinize my past in order to plan for the next adventure..

Having to look at the minute details of successes and failures in order to compile a plan for the future can make your stomach turn....

We are so good at reviewing where we have been with a critical eye and forget to look at the achievements with the same gusto.

We are already a success, by overcoming challenges, taking risk, learning lessons, being open to new ideas.... by trying in spite of the odds.

Giving ourselves credit for all the things we did right... seems selfish and uncomfortable...

Until we can look in retrospect with pride and with a sense of accomplishment, we will not be able to look forward to new adventures.

Here is the thought for the day:

I have done so much
with so little
for so long
that today
I can do almost anything
with absolutely nothing.

Saturn retrograde and the Full Moon- what a Day!

Good Morning everyone!
I have had a few very perceptive people on our list email me about planetary weirdness...

They are right!!

Saturn went retrograde and it is the so called "taskmaster" of the solar system.
It went retrograde Dec 5 and will continue till April.
It means we will be held accountable to our existence.
Here is a blurb from the Internet regarding Saturn Retrograde:

"Saturn retrograde is probably the least pleasant influence around.          Saturn is a hard-nosed, Mr. Brass Tacks himself, the teacher with the big ruler that insists you dot all your I's and cross all your T's before recess. He teaches us about responsibility and claiming our authority in the world, a class (Character Building 101) many of us would rather skip. Needless to say, this kind of discipline and skill is very useful later, even though the cycle itself is rough to get through."

So let's use this to our advantage and just stay focused, and don't take anything personally.

In addition, the full moon is TODAY so we are feeling the need to make changes, but because we are emotionally running high, we may try to push or rush things for our own agenda..

Remember, we ALL have an agenda, and be careful not to run over others just to fill our own need.

Here is the thought for the day

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns
And many a fellow turns about
And he might have won had he stuck it out

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.

Peace of Winter to you

Good snowy Morning to all!!

Living in Cleveland, it seems like we go from summer to winter in one day...
Winter is ...a time of rest and reflection...
It's always a struggle to embrace Winter.

We try to keep going with our same routines, fighting the elements, trying to literally plough through to Spring...

Winter is purposeful, it is like a Death process, a finishing of the year, putting many things to rest, and allowing for the sleep of hibernation to allow us to rest and create.

Winter, in the Native American tradition, is governed by Buffalo; representing wisdom  and abundance. A time of listening for the guidance, reflection and purpose, resting, and planning for Spring; a time to bring all of our new ideas into the physical world.

It is about hibernation, or death-without dying.

It is a time of gratitude and returning that gratitude with selfless giving.

Buffalos can find food when many other animals cannot because they can move the snow with their massive head and shoulders to look for shoots and grasses; allowing other animals to eat also.

Buffalo signals a time of giving when times are scarce, sharing what we have so we may all endure this time of scarcity.

By being more cyclical, and using the seasons with purpose, we can create a more peaceful existence.. Also eating seasonally, will help us to fight illness, fatigue and depression..

Embrace your cave, don't over schedule, be grateful for the year past, and grateful to those who have been part of this years journey.
Be grateful for the lessons learned and the messengers who delivered then.

Find reasons to stay in or visit with friends and family, start a game night or a pot luck evening,  find time to volunteer.. and create some new Winter traditions.

Here is the thought for the day

You have noticed that everything as Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round.....
The Sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars.
The wind, in its greatest power, whirls.
Birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours....

Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were.
The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.

It takes a Village

Happy Friday!!!

I am a firm believer that we need to be a village. It takes personal risk of getting involved, of stepping outside our problems and personal stuff and reach out to others.

We cannot exist alone, we are all at times in need of help and guidance. We need other, we need  people to give us new ways to look at things.

I volunteer a lot with children, I love the way they think, I love their imaginations.

I also believe that since I am more available during the day, I have a responsibility to be of service to those parents who have to work a job that does not give them the luxury of being able to spend time at school or at after school events.
I like to be of service to our underpaid overworked teachers, even if it's copying classroom stuff, just to help.

I've said the same things their parents would have said, eat your sandwich before the pudding... don't waste food, children are starving, be kind to each other ...lol

I just make myself available, to listen.. to allow them to be heard...sometimes it's about a pet that died, or a sandwich in their lunch that they hate, and sometimes it is about conflict resolution, and teaching them about compassion, by being compassionate.

I also like to hear their dreams, their aspirations, what interests them and to do things that stimulate their imaginations; making paper airplanes, making friendship bracelets, knitting, ceramics, storytelling... It makes me feel younger too...

Volunteerism makes us feel good, it improves our mood, and actually releases endorphins. There are many way to be of service.
Bloom where you're planted....

Here is the thought for the day-

Every one of us needs a home.
The world needs a home.
There are so many young people who are homeless.
They may have a building to live in, but they are homeless in their hearts.
That is why the most important practice of our time is to give each person a home.

Thich Nhat Hanh
