Wisdom

Good Morning!

Let my life be an example
In my Successes and my Failures.
Within me is the light of God, the wisdom of the ages,
if I can just have the courage to trust and believe.
To look for that same God light in everyone I meet.
Within me is the teachings of Buddha, Jesus, Gandhi, Mother Theresa and
of all those who went before me speaking of Love, Peace and Compassion.
It isn't the easy thing that is the right thing...
It is not in my silent acceptance of what I know in my heart that is wrong,
that will make a difference.
It is by having the courage to look into the mirror of my life,
to hold my life up as a mirror to others;
It is by my Word, Deed and Example that I will change the world.

Evolution

Good Morning!

The blame game.

When we are children, we see out elders as omnipotent beings who know everything, they tell us hen to get dressed, they prepare our meals, they tell us when to go to bed, they tell us who we are. We depend on them for everything.

When we become teenagers, we refuse to believe that they could be right, without seeing it for ourselves, we judge and criticize everything outside our limited field of experience.

As adults, we see that our elders were humans, doing the best they could, under the circumstances and learn to forgive them and take responsibility for our life. We make choices, and set an example for our children.

The interesting thing is that we get stuck in certain phases of emotional and spiritual growth, and do not continue to evolve.

Some of us are still children, believing everything others tell us, letting others make our decisions, not trusting our own inner voice, or that of those who are walking their talk.

Some of us are adolescents, afraid to be wrong, or opposed to seeing there may be another way to do things, blaming and criticizing and judging.

Some of us are adults, and see that we do not have all the answers that failure is an opportunity to learn and seek out guidance from those we respect, by looking at the example they set by their actions and their life. We have learned that there is spiritual guidance by trusting the Universal family; the inner voice that speaks the truth.

Our goal is to become the Elder, to trust that all of our experiences are lessons, that we give counsel only when asked, be an example of walking in Beauty, in deed and word.
Loving unconditionally and having compassion for others in whatever phase of growth they may be in.
Trusting that the higher order has purpose and we have all the guidance within ourselves.
That we can communicate with God anytime we are still and present, and knowing when to ask for help.

Where are you in the evolution of the self?

Here is the thought for the day-

The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent;
the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult;
the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise.

Mercury retrograde in Scorpio

Good Afternoon!
Mercury, the planet of communication will be going retrograde on Oct 28 and it will end approximately Nov 18.

This will be occurring during those with the birth sign Scorpio, which for all of us means that not only with there be tangled communications, but everyone will take what we say and it will "sting" a little more than usual. For more info go to;
http://www.astrologycom.com/mercret.html#sign

It is not advantageous to make huge communications during this time; like signing contracts, starting relationships. or trying to communicate detailed things.

Things like computers, phones and the like will also have problems getting a clear path.
It is a time of introspection and reflection. So keep your head down for the next 3 weeks.

Here is the thought for the day- ;)

Religion is a guy in church thinking about fishing.
Spirituality is a guy out fishing thinking about God.

Quantity or Quality?

Good Morning!
Welcome the new week!

The illusion of time causes us to get caught in the details of our day without looking at the quality of the life that we are living.

Time is illusionary..we are not completely present as it ticks by, while we schedule, work, eat, and sleep.

I like to think of the quality of  my life....

Are the things that I am doing truly bring me joy?
Are the things that I commit to of purpose and value?

I lived a life of being all things to all people, and came to the conclusion that I wasn't doing anything well and the person least happy was me.

Once I learned to set personal boundaries of what I truly can commit to it has made all the difference.
We are afraid of disappointing....but the truth is that when we commit to things we really don't want to do, it shows... nothing is being done well.

More often than not, more people are being disappointed by my inability to do my best, rather than being present, and unhurried.

Once you set these boundaries some will be disappointed, but you will be happier and so will everyone around you.

Is your life Quantity or Quality?

Here is the thought for the day-

Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better,
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain.
This day will not come 'round again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it's not always kind.
And when you go and go you must,
You, yourself, will make more dust.

All answers lie within

Good Morning....

Our world is filled with chatter and clatter, people talking without listening.

No one being heard.
We forget that everyone here is in their own illusion, we look to them for the answers to our future, our problems, when they cannot even solve their own plight.

All along we have a higher guidance....within......

When we are always looking to others, they give us what would work for them, or what limits them by their fears, and they project that to us...

They cannot give us insight into our personal journey that we came here for.
It can confuse us.
We are also looking for someone to agree with our human self...food for our victim..
Others cannot always tell us what we really need to hear......

Indigineous peoples call this going within Tiyoweh....the stillness....

When we are still and are looking for answers, we must enter the stillness in order to hear the guidance that is right for us, from a source that is here for OUR growth.

Today, do not share your concerns or troubles with others.

Find 10 minutes to be alone, still and enter the silence..
Take notes on what you see, hear and feel during this vision process..

Our inner voice speaks the loving truth, regardless of what we want to hear.
It is what we need to hear..

Here is the thought for the day-

In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light,
and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness.
Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth.

Cycles- All Our Relations

Good Morning,
I'm sure you have all noticed the large energy let down after this last full moon as it wanes to New, we are feeling a little melancholy, ill prepared and emotional.

There are many cycles in our life, the word cycle comes from Greek kyklos circle, wheel, cycle.

Our indigenous peoples see all things round, the cycles of the day, the month, seasons, years; as well as cycles of life, from child to young adult, adult to elder.

Their Medicine wheel reflects these cycles.

As we become more and more aware of our connection, outside ourselves to the rest of the world, we will begin to see our physical, emotional and spiritual changes as these cycles change.

Like when we change the time in the spring and fall, all of us are thrown "off" our internal clock.

These cycles, or hoops, start with the self, then family, then community, then country and world, like a ripple, with the stone in the center being you. This is why, these daily messages are designed to make you self aware, because if all is well in the first hoop (the self) it will ripple to the next, and the next.

If all is not well with the self, it will also affect the rest.

Whether or not we want to admit it, who you are and how you think and behave affects people, and our relations in nature you don't even know.
Your mood, your thoughts, energy and actions all have a ripple effect.
If you aren't in a good place, your energy is altered, others can "feel" it, and most of the world is not aware, and they feel this and own it. they take it personally. Just as we take it personal when another interrupts our hoop with their mood, energy and attitude.

Lesson 1) Don't take it personally, usually it has nothing to do with you.

You can be responsible for putting others in a bad mood, just with your energy.
Be an observer today, be aware of how you are influencing your space, and those around you.
Heal the self, then heal your relations with family, then heal your relations to your community, and so on.
When the Native Americans say "All our relations", they mean everything.
Be at peace with all things, and apply that to your life.

Here is the thought for the day

O Great Creator,
I come before you in a humble manner
and offer you this sacred pipe.
With tears in my eyes and an ancient song from my heart
I pray.
To the four powers of Creation,
To the Grandfather Sun,
To the Grandmother Moon,
To the Mother Earth,
And to my ancestors.

I pray for all my relations in Nature,
All those who walk, crawl, fly and swim,
Seen and unseen,
To the good spirits that exist in every part of Creation.

I ask that you bless our elders and children,
families and friends,
And the brothers and sisters who are in prison.
I pray for the ones who are sick on drugs and alcohol
And for those who are now homeless and forlorn.
I also pray for peace among the four races of humankind.

May there be good health and healing on this earth,
May there be Beauty above me,
May there be Beauty below me,
May there be Beauty in me,
May there be Beauty all around me.
I ask that this world be filled with Peace, Love and Beauty.

Let it shine!!!

Good Morning!

Many people ask; What is my purpose in life?

I think we expect our calling to appear from a winged messenger.
Our calling is using our gifts and talents to teach, learn, love, nurture and care for others.

Being an example of authenticity, unconditional love and nurturing.

By using our talents and abilities to make this world a better place, we honor the Divine.
Most of the time this occurs one person at a time.

Not honoring our authentic self  by hiding or not using these gifts, talents and abilities, we rob the world of the joy of who we really are.

Living an under-lived life serves no one.
Doing a job, or vocation that you are not passionate for serves no one.

You're gifts are the best parts of who you are.

It is easier to admit and accept our flaws and we willingly tell everyone of our shortcomings.

We seem to be ashamed of our talents and feel self conscious saying what we are really good at.

Support others with your praise of their talents, do not criticize or belittle their efforts to be unique, find the courage to do the same.

Hiding your light under a bushel leaves everyone in the dark.

Let it shine, Let it shine Let it shine!!.

Here is the thought for the day!

This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine,
Ev'ry day, ev'ry day,
Ev'ry day, ev'ry day,
Gonna let my little light shine.

On Monday, He gave me the gift of love;
On Tuesday, peace came from above.
On Wednesday told me to have more faith;
On Thursday, gave me a little more grace.
On Friday, told me to watch and pray
On Saturday, told me just what to say,
On Sunday, gave power divine
Just to let my little light shine. (oh)

Now some say you got to run and hide.
But we say there's no place to hide.
And some say let others decide,
But we say let the people decide.
Some say the time's not right,
But we say the time's just right.
If there's a dark corner in our land,
You got to let your little light shine. (oh)

This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine,
I'm going to let it shine,
Ev'ry day, ev'ry day,
Ev'ry day, ev'ry day,
Gonna let my little light shine.

Harvest Moon

Good Morning!

Well today is the Full moon, the Harvest moon to be exact.
The moon is so bright that farmers can stay in the fields longer to harvest crops.

There is so much moon lore but now is the time to celebrate the harvest, and here is a pagan ritual that you may want to try with some friends tonight!

Here's hoping everyone gets what they wish for!

Here is the Full Moon thought for the day!

Gather with friends to celebrate the vine with a bottle of good wine and good cheer.
Catch the Moons reflection in your cup and raise it up in salutation, now drink in her essence and feel the presence of the God and Goddess.
For those who know how to ask, whatever you want will be received.

Skating the Red Road

Good Morning!

I never thought I would ever be over 40.. but yesterday I went to a roller skating party with my son and realized mentally I may not feel 40 but physically I am much much older than my years.

My son was struggling to stand and looked at me with fear and angst, hanging onto the rail turning to me for guidance and inspiration.....

I tried to tell him how to do it, but standing there in shoes, I felt like a hypocrite, so I rented a pair of skates, got them laced up, and off I went........

In my mind, I could remember being 17, gliding along, doing spins, and 'groovin to the music but 28 years later, my reality was far from that, as I tried to convince my body that we remember how to do this!!
I pin wheeled and stumbled, finally getting up enough speed up by the end of the evening to prevent getting run over.
I fell only once, and let me tell you, getting up was quite a Kodak moment!!

My son saw me as inspiration, as he finally let go of the rail and soloed.... making it all the way around the rink.We even skated a couples song together.
He told me he was proud of me.
I told him the same...
We shared a lot in that moment.

Life and Spirituality are like that...

We come here with all the answers, we visualize a better way, but strapping on the equipment and taking the risk is not easy..

We don't know what we are capable of until we make an effort, and with practice, we get stronger, and more confident... at first, we careen, but we get our footing and find the joy in success...
Others are watching...even if they point and laugh... but some will be inspired by your determination..giving them the courage to try also....

and yes, you will fall on your butt.

But if you stay down, you'll get run over, so get up and try again.....

Here is the thought for the day!

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare,
It is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

Seneca
