Holiday Frenzy

The media blitz is on...as the Holiday buying frenzy begins...

But does it really have to?
How much stuff do we really need?
Are we really asking ourselves what would be of value to family and friends?
What is the true purpose of all of these Holidays?

Solstice, the Festival of lights, the birth of Jesus.....

The sharing of Love and Peace with each other..giving for the joy of giving.

Getting together with friends and family,
Making gifts, stringing popcorn, embracing Winter..
Taking the opportunity to go through our excess and donate it to our brothers and sisters who are without...
Giving blankets to the homeless,
Volunteering at the food bank, or soup kitchen....
Being of service to an overworked Mom or Dad.

Really pondering..what do the ones I Love Need?
What do I have that I can share?

Now is a time to get creative...its easy to pull out your credit card at the store;
Giving our time, and our Love takes a little more effort, but the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart.

Here is the thought for the day

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so?
It came without ribbons. It came without tags.
It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
~ Dr. Seuss
