Personal accountability

Greetings,
The state of affairs in our society (as prophesied) is changing.
 
More than ever it's imperative that we become accountable...
 
Unburden the system through accountability.
First, accountable for ourselves....
Then our family....
Then our community....
Then globally.....
 
Everything we do affects someone other than our self....
 
That is a huge statement....
Every choice affects someone else....
 
Your mood, the things we say, the things we do are all perceived by others...impacting them even on an energy level.
 
How many times do we get affected by the random selfish acts of others?
Only because they are thinking of no one other than themselves at any given moment?
 
The other day, we were at the gas station and a man threw all of his garbage out of the window in the parking lot...The kids were horrified, who was going to clean that up?
I doubt he was thinking about that, or that he had such a profound affect on them.
 
But, I send my garbage out to the curb every week, I don't really know where it goes, or the impact that has on my garbage man, or the landfill that I'm sure it goes to... because as long as it's not in my house, who cares?
 
It seems extreme, but the consciousness of recycling, using less, wasting less, would eventually make a difference....
 
It takes courage to look at the way we live in the third person, from a higher perspective..
 
Be accountable...take responsibility for who you are and what influence you have in your own life and the lives of those we love...
 
If enough of us did just that simple action, it would change the world....

Remembering Success

Greetings to all!!!
In preparing for leaps and risks, I have recently found it necessary to scrutinize my past in order to plan for the next adventure..
 
Having to look at the minute details of successes and failures in order to compile a plan for the future can make your stomach turn....
 
We are so good at reviewing where we have been with a critical eye and forget to look at the achievements with the same gusto.
 
We are already a success, by overcoming challenges, taking risk, learning lessons, being open to new ideas.... by trying in spite of the odds.
 
Giving ourselves credit for all the things we did right... seems selfish and uncomfortable...
 
Until we can look in retrospect with pride and with a sense of accomplishment, we will not be able to look forward to new adventures.
 
 
Here is the thought for the day:

Saturn retrograde and the Full Moon- what a Day!

Good Morning everyone!
I have had a few very perceptive people on our list email me about planetary weirdness...
 
They are right!!
 
Saturn went retrograde and it is the so called "taskmaster" of the solar system.
It went retrograde Dec 5 and will continue till April.
It means we will be held accountable to our existence.
Here is a blurb from the Internet regarding Saturn Retrograde:

"Saturn retrograde is probably the least pleasant influence around.          Saturn is a hard-nosed, Mr. Brass Tacks himself, the teacher with the big ruler that insists you dot all your I's and cross all your T's before recess. He teaches us about responsibility and claiming our authority in the world, a class (Character Building 101) many of us would rather skip. Needless to say, this kind of discipline and skill is very useful later, even though the cycle itself is rough to get through."

So let's use this to our advantage and just stay focused, and don't take anything personally.

In addition, the full moon is TODAY so we are feeling the need to make changes, but because we are emotionally running high, we may try to push or rush things for our own agenda..

Remember, we ALL have an agenda, and be careful not to run over others just to fill our own need.

Peace of Winter to you

Good snowy Morning to all!!
 
Living in Cleveland, it seems like we go from summer to winter in one day...
Winter is ...a time of rest and reflection...
It's always a struggle to embrace Winter.
 
We try to keep going with our same routines, fighting the elements, trying to literally plough through to Spring...
 
Winter is purposeful, it is like a Death process, a finishing of the year, putting many things to rest, and allowing for the sleep of hibernation to allow us to rest and create.
 
Winter, in the Native American tradition, is governed by Buffalo; representing wisdom  and abundance. A time of listening for the guidance, reflection and purpose, resting, and planning for Spring; a time to bring all of our new ideas into the physical world.
 
It is about hibernation, or death-without dying.
 
It is a time of gratitude and returning that gratitude with selfless giving.
 
Buffalos can find food when many other animals cannot because they can move the snow with their massive head and shoulders to look for shoots and grasses; allowing other animals to eat also.
 
Buffalo signals a time of giving when times are scarce, sharing what we have so we may all endure this time of scarcity.
 
By being more cyclical, and using the seasons with purpose, we can create a more peaceful existence.. Also eating seasonally, will help us to fight illness, fatigue and depression..
 
Embrace your cave, don't over schedule, be grateful for the year past, and grateful to those who have been part of this years journey.
Be grateful for the lessons learned and the messengers who delivered then.
 
Find reasons to stay in or visit with friends and family, start a game night or a pot luck evening,  find time to volunteer.. and create some new Winter traditions.

It takes a Village

Happy Friday!!!
 
I am a firm believer that we need to be a village. It takes personal risk of getting involved, of stepping outside our problems and personal stuff and reach out to others.
 
We cannot exist alone, we are all at times in need of help and guidance. We need other, we need  people to give us new ways to look at things.
 
I volunteer a lot with children, I love the way they think, I love their imaginations.
 
I also believe that since I am more available during the day, I have a responsibility to be of service to those parents who have to work a job that does not give them the luxury of being able to spend time at school or at after school events.
I like to be of service to our underpaid overworked teachers, even if it's copying classroom stuff, just to help.
 
I've said the same things their parents would have said, eat your sandwich before the pudding... don't waste food, children are starving, be kind to each other ...lol
 
I just make myself available, to listen.. to allow them to be heard...sometimes it's about a pet that died, or a sandwich in their lunch that they hate, and sometimes it is about conflict resolution, and teaching them about compassion, by being compassionate.
 
I also like to hear their dreams, their aspirations, what interests them and to do things that stimulate their imaginations; making paper airplanes, making friendship bracelets, knitting, ceramics, storytelling... It makes me feel younger too...
 
Volunteerism makes us feel good, it improves our mood, and actually releases endorphins. There are many way to be of service.
Bloom where you're planted....

Risk..it's worth it!

Greetings to All!!
 
Being who I am has it's advantages as well as it's disadvantages.
 
I am an Out-of-the-box kinda chick, and with that comes an element of risk.
 
If we want change, if we want new things in our life, it will involve risk.
 
To step out boldly from the crowd, to believe in who we are and what we are doing in order to facilitate change takes risk.
 
Embracing our ideas and beliefs will always draw attention from those who don't like change, or who cannot think out of the box...
but can we allow the opinions of others to stop us from trying?
 
The old me would have said "hell no!"
 
The new me moves to their perspective ,coming to see others points of view, then I take it into consideration and move forward anyway.
Even if it means occasionally modifying my original plan.lol
 
When we dare to try, we will not always be met with our own enthusiasm.
There are critics everywhere who's lives are stagnant because they are afraid to change.
 
Change anyway.

Just imagine.......

Good Morning All!!
 
Applying all this great spiritual stuff is not an easy task.
It all sounds good in theory;
Setting boundaries,
Loving unconditionally,
Speaking our truth.
 
It's not easy looking at our past..
our present and forgiving,
asking for forgiveness
admitting our mistakes.
 
It's not easy letting go of dread,
and fear,
and laughing
or playing
or putting off the to do list for just one day.
 
It's not easy, letting go,
of people
and behavior
that creates chaos and fear
and opening ourselves to the beauty of Peace, Love and Joy.
 
None of these things are easy,
but just imagine................
