You are where you need to be..I promise.

Good Morning!!

Today is about gratitude

I spent a good portion of my life, blaming and criticizing others for my unhappiness.

If not for the unconditional love of those who spoke a clear and profound message of faith, purpose and accountability, I would not be who I am today.

Every lesson
Every person
Every experience
is an opportunity to grow, to become complete, to be free... from the victim.

If you want to change people...change yourself
If you want to be of service...help yourself....
If you want to love....love yourself...

For your life is a series of choices;
If you suffer, it is because you choose to...
If you are lost...you do not look for the signs...
Have the courage to change...

Today, practice gratitude for where you are.. by taking ownership for the choices that got you there and remove the blocks that enslave you....

It is a blessing to awake from the dream that is this human life, and remember that you are Divine......

Here is the Thought for the day.......

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.
It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.
We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

the Yin and Yang of relationships

Hello everyone!

I have been performing many weddings lately..which brings me to reflecting upon relationships....

Many of us have a lot of expectation of things outside us to make us complete..

A partner is one of them.

So often, we are so busy trying to please and impress, we are bit by tiny bit, loosing touch with who we are...

The best part of us that our partners were attracted to seems to diminish as time goes on..

We are so focused on being a couple, we sometimes lose site of each being individuals with different points of view, interests, gifts and relationships outside of our  romantic one..

Remaining an individual, and allowing our partner to do the same creates the Yin Yang, the light and dark, the balance that union represents.... the two halves.

Our partners usually have qualities that we do not have in ourselves.. and those are, during times of duress, are the very things that we criticize.....

We then blame our partner for our unhappiness, when we made a conscious choice to surrender our authentic self.

My good friend Running Bear says it well;

As we find balance within, we begin to see that we are not meant to travel alone, that in partnering, we gain the insight of another who we admire love and respect.  It gives us that which we do not see in ourselves this creating a balance of its own.

Examine your relationships, both past and present, honor your self and your partner by being the best you you can be, look to them as a mirror for what you are not, and celebrate that.

Here is the thought for the day:
Marriage- from the Prophet by Kahlil Gilbran

Then Almitra spoke again and said, "And what of Marriage, master?"

And the Prophet answered saying:

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.

You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.

Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.

But let there be spaces in your togetherness,

And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another but make not a bond of love:

Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.

Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.

Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,

Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.

For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together, yet not too near together:

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

Hello.. ..is anyone out there?

Good Morning Everyone!
Welcome to some new Villagers on our list!
to see archive "thoughts for the day- go to http://journals.aol.com/blueroadspirit/WalkingtheRedRoad/

Some days we feel lost, and unable to see the way...this is normal, but most importantly, then is the time to stop pushing....
Look for the subliminal signs. take it easy on the self.

Our human need to push and control when there is no direction can take us off course.

There is no GPS on this journey, and sometimes we are adrift....

Trust that the next move or turn will appear, and just enjoy the peace of knowing that it is all for a reason...
Speak your truth with love, stay in the power of truth when the world tries to distract you.
Enjoy the scenery, be kind and gentle with others and yourself....watch for the opportunities and messages that come from our friends in the animal, plant, insect and wing-ed tribe, they will show you the way.

Divine timing sometimes means going on with the day, and trust that the rest is being positioned for the "right time"..it's just not "right now"......

All is well.........

For more information on these messengers, I highly recommend the book Animal Speaks by Ted Andrews, or Medicine cards by Jamie Sams.......

Here is the thought for the day:

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds
and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me.

I am small and weak.

I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes
ever behold the red and purple sunset.

Make my hands respect the things you have made
and my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise so that I may understand
the things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.

Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes,
so when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my spirit will come to you
without shame.

Who put all this junk in here?

Good Morning all!!

I have spent 2 years purging and re-assessing everything in my space.
If it does not speak to me as a sacred memory that I display, or spiritually, it's gotta go. lol
I  cannot honor all of these things by stacking and hoarding them.

I am finding the joy in clear open spaces in my home...which is a direct reflection of  my life.

The more I purge, the more I realize the less I need.

I find a Myriad of emotions resurface as I go through these things...
Guilt, sadness, joy, happiness.... all of them valid, all of them shadows of my former self.

I am now free.....free to allow those things and the emotions tied to them to go.....

With a promise and a prayer to trust that the Universe provides me with what I need at the time I will need it.

Are you tied to things?

You cannot fill the void inside with stuff.
Fill it with Love, peace and faith, and be brave enough to release your fear of scarcity by letting the unused things in your life  to go.

You will be amazed.

Here is the thought for the day:

We don't need more money,

we don't need greater success or fame,

we don't need the perfect body or even the perfect mate.

Right now, at this very moment, we have a mind,

which is all the basic equipment we need to achieve complete happiness.

Good Morning everyone!

Thank you for all of the beautiful messages of condolence for the passing of my friend and teacher. He is already at work..

We are all teachers, and students, whether we realize it or not.
Many watch us as an example of how to live.
Some you may never meet.

We are entering the New Moon, this is a time for us to reflect over the last month, the changes, the lessons and then create new things to bring out in the full moon 2 weeks from now.

The past month has brought changes, and re-evaluation.
Be grateful for it all.

Now is the time to take all that new knowing and put it to work, to make a better you.
Even if the lessons were painful, that signals growth, and evolution.

Be an example of Peace, Love and Joy to everyone you meet.

It is through your compassion and unconditional love of others that we will make this a better world.

One of our Villagers sent me the prayer of St Theresa, apply it to your own Path, it speaks a powerful reminder.
Thank you "M" for the message today.......

Here is the thought for the day!

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God. (Universe, Great Mystery)
Let this presencesettle into our bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of you.
St Theresa

Death of a Spiritual Warrior

Hello everyone,

In our life we have many teachers, many people who, knowingly or not, change our lives just by their presence, their example  or influence.

As I began my spiritual journey, one such person entered my life, and taught me many things. Primarily he was a spiritual warrior.

He taught me to embrace who I am, to see myself through everyone I meet.
To embrace my path, and walk in my truth. To stand for what I believe, even if others may not agree and to be authentic.

He fought injustice, in his own unique way.

This soul brought many truths to everyone he met, his selfless expression of support and faith forever changed my life, even though he may never have really realized it himself.

This special person succumbed to his humanness, and recently crossed to the Blue Road of Spirit, to begin the next leg of his journey.

If you could find time today, to offer a thought, or prayer for this spiritual warriors' safe passage, it would be greatly appreciated.

His name was Dave, and he was my friend.

Here is the thought for the day-

The Last Warrior
High on bleak, stony rag,
Unmoving, he sits astride
His ragged coated pony.
Only telltale frozen breaths,
Separate them from
The still, winter black boles
Of ancient leafless trees.
The pony, blown and lame,
Stands with lowered head,
Ears flattened to the sound
Of a distant wolf pack.
The man on his back,
All weapons lost,
Ignores the trickling blood
From savage wounds,
Mingling his war paint.
Eyes burning fiercely
He strains to find
The sign he seeks:
Behind, the sound of enemy
Draws ever closer.
At last, faith rewarded,
He sees far below
In the deep valley,
Arriving at the edge
Of the fast flowing river,
The great she bear
With two gamboling cubs:
To fish the racing salmon,
Drawn relentlessly toward
Their age-old spawning ground.
Silently, the wounded brave
Offers his final prayer
To the eternal clan bear;
Totem and guardian
Of his battle slain tribe.
The enemy, exultant,
Are almost upon him,
Yet he looks not behind:
He sees only the Great Spirit,
Surrounding him kindly
In loving, firm embrace.
While the enemy closes in,
He straightens himself;
His voice rings loud and clear,
Echoing across the land
To the distant cloudless sky.
One last defiant war cry
As he spurs on his pony,
And leaps...
Into the world of his ancestors.

Walking the Red Road

Good Morning, Happy Friday!!!!

My Blog called Walking the red road,  where I post all of the Thoughts of the day, is about us all.... travelers here on Mother Earth.
We are here to learn, to teach, and to love, until we cross to the Blue Road Of Spirit to continue our journey..

Being an enlightened human on a spiritual path is a lot of work.

You can read, and read.... Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Sylvia Brown, Deepak Chopra....these beautiful materials are the authors personal truth,  for you to take what speaks to you and  apply it to your own journey.

Now is the time to stop reading and look inside for your own truth, to apply what you have read.

This is no easy task....

Take nothing personally.
Find the god light in everyone you meet
Use every person today as a mirror for yourself
Look for the "messages" in your day.
Be kind, always.
Do not blame.
Do not judge. Even yourself.
Apologize, and make peace.
Stand up for what's right.
Play.
Spend time with children.
Spend time conversing with the Universe.
Ask for help.

Every day that we are accountable for our Life, spread Kindness, Love unconditionally, and be Joyful, is one more step closer to a spirit filled life.

You aren't alone...but it does begin with you......

Here is the thought for the day

After climbing a great hill,
one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.

I have taken a moment here to rest,
to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me,
to look back on the distance I have come.

But I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom comes responsibilities,
and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.

Are the voices in my head bothering you?

Greetings,

Trusting our inner voice is harder than it seems.

Because it is usually contrary to what we want to do...lol

Sometimes we are "compelled" to do something, our inner voice repeating it over and over.

It may seem silly, or it doesn't make sense, only to find if we had listened, we would have had a much better outcome.

Or that you did listen, and found the reason why was something or someone you needed to see or meet.

And sometimes.... you may never know why. But you said just the right thing, to someone, or your presence averted a disaster, or a life changing moment in another's path and you will never get a confirmation of the power of that moment.

This is the flow of Spirit.

We are here.....positioned to learn, to teach, to grow, and then to cross over and then be the guides for those left to this earthly walk, sending them hints and "coincidences" that they may or may not act upon.

I know that my guides have spent much time practically hitting me with a brick to get my attention...lol

If I had a Native name it would be Runs with Scissors......

Here is the thought for the day!!

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain all!

Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably.

He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.

Be grateful for whomever comes,
because each has been sent as a  guide from beyond.

I'm Ready-Show me the Way

Good Day!!!
Well, today is the Full Moon!!

Now is the time to ask for what you want,
talk about what you want,
bring ideas out,
and be done with old patterns, habits and behaviors.

Ask the Universe for help.

I have a ritual on the Full Moon of writing these things down, and putting them in my fire pit, and "watch" as the smoke rises, carrying my intentions, prayers and thoughts - up, up and away to the Heavens....

All you ever wanted is already here, waiting for you to believe....to have Faith.

So talk about your dreams and wants, out loud, to anyone who will listen.

Practice asking for what you want with the intention of receiving, not necessarily from the person your asking, but from the powers that be....

Creating an energy of readiness, and of Faith.

Here is the thought for the day....

Doubt sees the obstacles
Faith sees the way.

Doubt sees the darkest night
Faith sees the day.

Doubt dreads to take a step
Faith soars on high.

Doubt questions 'who believes?'
Faith answers, ' I.'

Where is allthat smoke coming from?

Good Morning,
I had some computer problems (thanks to the retrograde!!) and I am back on line!

I did some shuffling of things in my personal space, and needed to be conscious of  aligning the energy as I went.

Energy is in all things, there is a constant flow of energy in our homes, offices, even or car.

When we enter that energy, some of us can perceive it, we "feel" it when our own aura contact it, so we get good and bad feelings about places.

Most "hauntings" can be attributed to old stagnant energy that is still on the move and is in desperate need of removal or release. It is not always old inhabitants. It can be just as disruptive, causing sleep problems and dreams and lack of abundance.

It is important to constantly be aware of clutter, removing it to allow a clear path for the flow of energy, or "chi" and the importance of clearing energy after purging or moving things.

Because, we are saying "I am releasing what I no longer need, so I am ready for what is to come...."

Some use a broom to "sweep" the energies away, others use smoke, or "smudge".

Burning herbs and plant that are significant for energy clearing, like sage and frankincense, to name a couple.

By consciously removing old energies,we give old things permission to move on.... we open our spaces to a better flow..to abundance, good things and love.

I believe that re-aligning energies through smudging should be  a regular ritual, after cleaning, or whenI move things around I also smudge when I pray, or when I make changes in myself.

Then I am at peace in my space, because our energies are the same..

Just soap doesn't clean a house, think about Clear ing your space today!

Here is the thought for the day!!

When you clean your house...
clean it as if God were going to be your special guest.
Because He is.

When you prepare a meal...
prepare it as if God were going to be sitting at your table.
Because He is.

When you work...
work as if God will be your customer.
Because He is.

And when you speak with another...
speak as if you were speaking with God.
Because you are.
