Just say when.........

he·don·ism (hdn-zm) n.

1. Pursuit of or devotion to pleasure, especially to the pleasures of the senses. 2. Philosophy The ethical doctrine holding that only what is pleasant or has pleasant consequences is intrinsically good. 3. Psychology The doctrine holding that behavior is motivated by the desire for pleasure and the avoidance of pain.

Most of us have created this life, avoiding pain, creating an illusion of denial, and finding it impossible to leave this vicious circle in order to see what we really need, what we really value, what we really want.

Afraid of our own emotions, and even more uncomfortable with someone else's.

We want balance in life, but we are still looking for happiness outside ourselves, working harder and harder, getting more and more stuff, till our homes are overflowing with needless things, our children value nothing, becoming insatiable.

We eat out so often, that even food does not excite us anymore.

(Do you remember when going to a restaurant was a treat?)

This is an illusion in which there is no room for desire, passion, or the pursuit of either.  We have become victim to the illusion, afraid of the truth.

We have become addicted tothe stuff, the grueling schedule; we have no vision of who we are without it.

We become afraid of the pain of looking at our illusion realizing that time is slipping by, and we have not lived so we continue on.

The most painful part of stopping this madness is realizing that we are living in denial, a story.

Afraid to admit that there is little substance to this way of life.   We don't make time for stopping, reading, playing games with our kids that aren't powered by electricity or batteries.

No time for conversing, thinking, meditating, playing, creating, praying, except for when we want something...

Picture a day, when we turn it all off, we have time to share ourselves with family, friends, community.

We work together to save and spend wisely, that we take time for ourselves, that we listen to what our kids really think....

That we honor the sacredness of our homes, that we venture outside and enjoy the seasons....

That we find happiness and peace.

Here is the thought of the day, taken from the Lyrics

"Where is the Love? by the Black Eyed Peas

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' our own direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive to lovers bound

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)

Visions, Dreams and my Happy place

Good Monday to you all!!!!

Today is the last day of the new moon. It has been an exceptionally powerful one, swirling emotion, disorganization, forcing us to be in a bit of a retreat from the world.

We are entering my power month, February... a time to explore our psychic side..being sensitive to others energy, stepping out of this reality, and adventure in our imaginations.

The thoughts of the day will center on vision, dreams, the future,  and the like.

This is the month of Aquarius, and Pisces...Happy Birthday to you all!

A time to indulge our "imagination" the dark place of Daydreams and Visions.   Take some time to be alone, still, and allow your mind to wander.

See where it takes you, even write it down so you remember....

Pisceans and Aquarians have a much easier time of this, because they are driven by water...

This ability to go within is where ideas and inspiration comes from.

Take a time out and visit your happy place.

Here is the thought for the day!!

A Teachable Moment of Clarity

Having long striven having been driven
To amount to something now I stand at
The crossroads of a teachable moment

This is a time in which fate would foment
Change to rearrange my reality
And now fate is doing precisely that

It is in the darkness I learn to see
At dusk I learn to hope forcoming dawn
In winter I appreciatethe spring
And see the light brightest when it is gone

Now fate offers me a challenge to grow
To seek and find the all in everything
And learn the more I know the less I know

To taste of the joy of simply being
And experience the peace of seeing
Not through rose-colored glasses nor through black
Embracing what I have not what I lack

A teachable moment of clarity
It is not too late for this gift of fate:
I rise now to my higher destiny

Love and serve

Good morning everyone!!!

If you have been reading the thoughts for the day, you will see that our fear and feelings of scarcity make us desperate and reactive.

We become self consumed and manipulative, trying desperately to fill our need.

People sense our selfishness and then are not apt to give us what we want, creating a vicious cycle. We are not sincere. Creating a block, creating scarcity...

It is only when we are filling the needs of others that we open the flow of abundance, drawing people, love and kindness to ourselves...

Not demanding it.

If we can always come from a place of being of service, it positions us to be open to receiving everything we need...

The following story is a parable, apply it as you will.....

Have an awesome day.

Here is the thought for the day!!

There is an old story about a man who lived a long and worthy life.

When he died, the Lord said to him, "Come, I will show you hell."

He was taken to a room where a group of people sat around a huge pot of stew. Each held a spoon that reached the pot, but had a handle so long it couldn't be used to reach his or her mouth.

Everyone was famished and desperate; the suffering was terrible.

After a while, the Lord said, "Come, now I will show you heaven."

They came to another room. To the man's surprise, it seemed identical to the first room - a group of people sat around a huge pot of stew, and each held the same long-handled spoon. But here everyone was nourished and happy, and the room was full of joy and laughter.

"I don't understand," said the man, "Everything seems to be the same, yet they are so happy here, and they were so miserable inthe other place.

What in heaven's name is going on here?"

The Lord smiled, "Ah, but don't you see?

Here they have learned to feed one another."

Life Cycles

  Good Morning Everyone!!!! Happy Friday

The full moon is upon us, time to bring plans into fruition.

The moon will be full on Sat 1.14.06, but we have felt it's waxing since yesterday.

Get a Life, try to bring one new creation  into your life this month, one new and improved behavior..Creating just one new thing.....

This can only be achieved by training ourselves to be silent, still and peaceful. We become numb and confused when chaos is present

If we can be a little more aware of these rhythms by using natures cycles, we will begin to see the rhythm in our lives without effort, learning to recognize them by setting our internal clock, watching nature, trusting the rise and fall of emotion....

It will be something to look forward to with planning, instead of reacting.

Create your own ritual for these cycles, include friends and family, and pretty soon, others will look forward to them too!! What a great excuse to have a few friends over for dinner and to light the fire pit.

When you're done you can make smores!!

Here is the Thought for the day!!

Life: a cycle. A series of events, meetings, and departures. Friends discovered, others lost, Precious time, wastes away. Big droplet tears are shed for yesterday, but are dried in time for tomorrow, until all that remain are foggy, broken memories of a happy yesteryear.

Listen to the silence

Happy Friday!!!!!!

Silence, what is that?

We are hearing something all the time, and have even trained ourselves to hear nuance in noises.

Silence is golden;

It's true, we don't even realize that we are being assaulted until we turn it all off. Like the time the power failed, and we were forcibly unplugged.   Noise and sound is a vibration, even when we are not hearing it, our bodies are feeling it.

Anyone who has retreated to silence, and felt the peaceful bliss of nothingness, you can't help but emit a sigh....ahhhhhh...

Peace and quiet feels good.

Listening requires energy.

Have no expectation.  At first, the mind will race, you may even fall asleep. (set a timer) but eventually you will be still.

It is then, that the powerful whisper of the higher self can be heard.

Patiently waiting for us to grow enough to come and see where it lives..

Somewhere in your weekend, turn it off, unplug it, sit or lay down, plug your ears and open your self to silence.

Here is the thought for the day;

Silence is the great teacher, and to learn its lessons you must pay attention to it. There is no substitute for the creative inspiration, knowledge, and stability that come from knowing how to contact your core of inner silence. The great Sufi poet Rumi wrote, "Only let the moving waters calm down, and the sun and moon will be reflected on the surface of your being.

Scarcity

Good Morning!

I had a conversation with someone that went to India recently, shocked at seeing masses of people living in the streets with absolutely nothing. The amazing thing however that they observed was how most of the people living on the street seemed happy..

We are so afraid of scarcity, that we have created it.

Fear isolates us.

Hiding in our cluttered homes, our cluttered lives, no way for anyone to get in. No room for Happiness, Joy and Love...

Then wondering why we don't have it; because we would have to come out, let go and reach out to another first.

Our houses are filled with things we never use or want.  We are not grateful for our jobs, we are not grateful for and and fight with family and friends over triivial things.

We spread our unhappiness to anyone who will listen.

"How are you today?"

"Today sucks, I got up late, and the car wouldent start, and I have the boss from hell....

How about:  "I'm blessed, how are you!??"

We have so much that there is no satisfaction in any of it. We can act selfish and spoiled.

It is time to be grateful.

Lets try to remove the excess from our lives.

Appreciate the things that we do have.

Remind others of how blessed they are and help them find the abundance that already exists.

Here is the thought for the day!!!!

He who knows how to be poor knows everything.

My Masterpiece

Greetings!!!

Well, new class listings will be out this week for Serenity Sundays!!

Welcome to the New Year, full of promise and opportunity...sounds good...

It isn't easy to keep up that momentum. That's why we must keep positive, motivational, and spiritual material flowing into our day...

We need to try and counter the negative barrage that living in our society presents.

There is no one like you....

We are all unique, diverse and original.

What a blessing!!

I don't want to be anyone but me, I may want to be better, or more like other behaviors or ideals that others mirror to me, but I want to design it to fit into the being that is me....

I hope that all of you see yourselves as a unique piece of art, not defined by someone else, or popped out of a mold shaped by others...a one of a kind, a priceless masterpiece.

Let your unique beauty shine for others to appreciate.

You might inspire someone to hang their Masterpiece in this gallery called Life.

Here is the thought for the day!!

If you listen,
Not to the pages or preachers
But to the smallest flower
Growing from a crack
In your heart,

You will hear a great song
Moving across a wide ocean
Whose water is the music
Connecting all the islands
Of the universe together,
And touching all
You will feel it
Touching you
Around you...
Embracing you
With light.
